The Evolve Collaborative
Driving change together, powered by data.
The Evolve Collaborative is a membership community centred on data with purpose.
We collect, analyse and publish extensive measures and reports on comparative trust performance. And we foster vibrant learning spaces where members share what works and drive improvements that make a tangible difference for patients.
We are partnership brining together The NHS Alliance, the leading membership body bringing together all parts of the UK health and care system, and Beamtree, an Australian health data and analytics specialist.
What makes us unique?
Our foundation of collaboration and track record of success internationally. Our model has been transformative in Australia, helping healthcare providers to deliver safer and more effective care. Now, we’re adapting our proven approach for the NHS.
By combining the strength of shared experience and the power of data, we empower clinicians, boards, and operational leaders to tackle the issues that matter most, together.
Co-designed with our members, this collaborative approach ensures solutions are practical, relevant and focused on improving outcomes for patients.
Our services

You will also be part of an extensive learning community focused on improving patient outcomes and hospital efficiencies.
Benchmarking platform
Our secure benchmarking platform combines national datasets with machine learning and predictive analytics to forecast trends and tackle emerging challenges. It moves beyond historic reporting, enabling trusts to compare performance across peers and regions, identify variation, and unlock in-year savings.
Key features include:
- Advanced predictive analytics. Unlike traditional benchmarking approaches that focus on highlighting patterns in historic data, our model drives improvements against both existing and emerging issues. Our data platform and approach compliments existing analytics.
- Our accessible benchmarking platform built within a secure data environment, using national data sets (HES, ECDS) and advanced machine learning with risk-adjusted modelling to forecast future trends.
- By benchmarking across your trust, with your peers, your region and nationally on metrics such as length of stay or low value procedures, you can identify variation to help realise in-year harvestable savings, support efficiencies and drive productivity improvements.
- It's for all of your team. Board directors, executive teams, clinical and analytics teams will all be able to access the user-friendly platform on the go, giving them full visibility of data to drive continuous improvement.
- As the programme evolves, the platform will grow too – with ambitions to incorporate additional data sets for even richer insights.
Peer-to-peer programmes
Through structured peer-to-peer programmes, members come together to explore shared challenges and learn from one another. Supported by advanced analytics, including predictive forecasting, we help teams move beyond retrospective reporting -focusing on insight and improvement, not league tables.
Our learning community programme which brings together members in a trusted, psychologically safe environment – where curiosity is encouraged and ideas are explored.
Facilitated by experienced healthcare improvement experts, it focuses on peer-to-peer learning on topics that matter most to members’ organisations, helping them share insights, learn from one another and drive meaningful change.
Key features
Collaboration baked in
Designed around the same member-led, support-focused ethos of the NHS Confederation, The Evolve Collaborative is a trusted space where collaboration thrives. Curiosity is encouraged, and trusted spaces where collaboration thrives ensure members can share openly and challenge ideas without fear.
By bringing together peers from diverse backgrounds, including clinicians and staff, Evolve creates a rich mix of perspectives that drive patient-centred solutions. Members work side by side on projects and challenges, applying their knowledge and testing ideas through improvement science methods (e.g., PDSA cycles).
Through this collaborative approach, powered by data and continuous learning, members identify inefficiencies, understand variation, and co-create strategies that deliver meaningful change.
A tried, tested and trusted model
The Evolve Collaborative is based on the Health Round Table which Beamtree has successfully delivered in Australia for over 30 years. It is carefully adapted for the NHS, co-designed with the NHS Confederation and our members. This model has been transformative internationally, helping healthcare providers to deliver safer and more effective care. Now, we’re bringing that proven approach to the NHS - powered by data but driven by the insights and actions of our members.

Drive change powered by dataPeer learning communities
Our learning communities will bring together colleagues from across Evolve’s membership to exchange knowledge, skills and expertise around members most pressing challenges, driven by insights from our powerful data platform.
They are a dynamic and collaborative environment that leverages the collective expertise and experience of members from a range of different professional backgrounds.
Why join?
- earning community members are enabled to define the direction of the community and agree priorities. They are a safe space to reflect on performance, discuss failure and drive action, brainstorm solutions and implement improvements. They foster a learning culture of continuous improvement.
- Driven by Evolve’s data analytics capabilities and using shared experiences to co-design solutions, our learning communities are designed to speed up problem identification and solution implementation, thus reducing waste of time and resources.
- Facilitated by experienced improvement experts, they will have a structured approach to learning, innovation, and continuous improvement, using both quantitative and qualitative data to understand variation and context, and test small-scale changes choosing the best method and improvement tools (eg, PDSA cycles)
- Our learning communities will give members the opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge through collaboration and shared learning experiences in a supportive environment.
How do they work?
Our learning communities will be structured around four core domains in the first year:
- Safety
- Financial and operational sustainability
- Effectiveness and population health
- Timeliness and accessibility.
Each community will be member-led, with members agreeing the topics or problems they want to tackle. They will meet for at least 12 hours of peer-to-peer learning events a year, designed to build knowledge and enable reflection. This will be backed up by:
- Discussion forums for sharing ideas and dialogue
- Feedback sessions for constructive input and improvement ideas
- Collaborative workshops
- Specific task-focused groups
- Invited guest speakers sharing their knowledge.
